ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
We are committed to environmental management and industrial sustainability.
In Colombia, 11.6 million tons of solid waste are generated per year. From this number, about 40% could be reused, but according to the Green Growth Mission of the National Planning Department (DNP), only about 17% of this waste is recycled. The use of water in our country at industrial establishments represents 60.4%. The aqueduct companies represent 21.8% and groundwater 16.7% Based on this, industries are the main users and consumers of the sources that generates the most of solid waste. However, the task of each company is including more corporate sustainability processes and programs such as circular life cycle, green strategies and processes that support a proper water sanitation.
These programs give us the opportunity to provide services, products, and help with the preservation of natural resources.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
TAUROQUÍMICA is committed to environmental management and industrial sustainability. For this reason, we provide services for the management and implementation of environmental management systems, solid waste management programs and the design and operation of water treatment plants in addition to the manufacture and sale of chemical supplies for water sanitation.
Strategies used
- TAUROQUÍMICA currently aims for the 100% treatment of water consumption in all its processes.
- Almost 50% of the water used in the process is recovered and treated water from our own plant.
- TAUROQUÍMICA reuses 20% to 30% packaging material for the storage of its products.
- TAUROQUÍMICA aims to have 50% increase in the recollection of internal recyclable material in the company
- A 40% reduction in energy used thanks to the implementation of a solar panel system.
- There is a control of atmospheric emissions, having examination and reduction equipment.
- The use of environmentally friendly chemical products was increased. Making the substitution for biodegradable products.
- The treatment and disposal of our dangerous waste is carried out in compliance with environmental regulations.
WATER RESOURCES
TAUROQUÍMICA improves water quality by reducing pollution and eliminating the emission of chemicals and dangerous chemicals in the water.To carry out the water sanitation process, it is necessary to work on the following parameters:
